These three methods of viewing stereo images are the most accessable for most people. The other methods require special equipment (shuttter glasses, polarized projection), are not suitable to this medium (lenticular prints), or just don't work well for astro-images (motion-3D).
You will notice that I use the term 'stereo' and 'stereographic' on this site, rather than '3-D'. The term has become synonymous with current movies like Shreck or Robots. These are textured and shaded to look more realistic, but they are still viewed on a flat screen in two dimensions. True '3-D' adds the effect of depth
